Last week I said I would write about Air Sponge this week, and I am ... however, I think I will throw in a few more products. Yesterday on my radio show, I talked about our Survival Kit. It’s a list of products that are good to have under the sink and in the garage so that you are never caught off guard when things go awry at your home. But I didn’t get to all of the products. So, I am going to continue the show in this article, explain the products, and tell you how you can use them day to day. I love hearing about new products in the industry, but when they don’t tell me how to use them in my life, I hit scroll. So here are the products and how to make them work in your life.
So first, Air Sponge. Air Sponge is an odor neutralizer for the air, just like the name suggests. It comes in 3 sizes: ½ pound, 1 pound, and a huge 4 pound. To use Air Sponge, open the lid and place it in a room with an odor, and in 20 minutes, the odor, if not gone, is seriously reduced. But it’s not like a candle or room diffuser that adds fragrance in the air; this product removes the odor molecules. When you open an Air Sponge, the odor-neutralizing molecules rise into the air, grab the stinky odor molecules, and pull them down to the floor, where they either evaporate or you sweep or vacuum them away. So how can you use Air Sponge? Cook something that lingers in the air? Buy a car the previous owner smoked in? You have company over and though they don’t smoke in your home, their clothing carries a smoke smell, that lingers when they leave? You have a summer lake house that smells musty? Your dog got skunked, and he ran into the house before you knew it?
Howard’s Leather Cleaner and Leather Salve was first introduced to me by one of my employees. She saw it online, ordered it, and then talked to me for 10 minutes about how it saved her leather recliner. Where she always sat, her head hit the cushion, and there was a white, oily spot that she cleaned with Leather Cleaner. Leather Cleaner is excellent for cleaning oily stains, grime, food, and dirt on leather. Do you have a favorite leather recliner or spot on your leather sofa that looks dingy? Does the blue in your blue jeans leave a mark on your leather seats in your car? Did the puppy leave muddy paw prints or dirty marks on the backseat in your car? These are all reasons to use this leather cleaner. Leather Salve is an excellent penetrating conditioner that revives leather. It reduces scratches and rejuvenates and protects your leather with the finest waxes. But it never leaves an oily feel, just a soft glow.
Shiela Shine is an excellent metal cleaner and polish that not many people know about. But to me it’s the best, and if anyone asks, I show them the product. So why is it better? For one, you can use it on so many metals, but most of my customers use it on stainless steel. Stainless Steel in the kitchen has been the tried-and-true choice for so many years because of its durability, and it goes with any kitchen décor. In commercial kitchens, it’s the standard because it’s heat-resistant, hygienic, and easy to clean. So, it’s no surprise that most kitchens use stainless today. Sinks, dishwashers (inside and out), refrigerators, vent hoods, stoves, and utensils are all made in stainless. But the one question I get is how to handle the fingerprints. And that’s why I show them Shiela Shine. Shiela Shine leaves a protective finish that lasts. Do you have chrome on the car? On the rims? On your boat? Use Shiela Shine. Spray Shiela Shine on a soft rag, apply it, and then wait and buff with a clean towel.
