Morgan's Squirrel Repellent

  • , by Trudy Chuoke Trudy Chuoke

A few weeks ago, I talked about the possibility of a new squirrel repellent, and it’s here.  It’s another great repellent from the line up of Morgan’s. You probably know about the mouse and rat repellent that they produce which is better than any other repellent that I know of because I rave about it so much. And the reason I talk about it so much is that we have used it in the store with such success. And if you are having issues with mice or rats, then Morgan’s Repellent is what you need.  It’s on our website. But I want to talk to you about squirrels and the damage they can do around the house.

I must cut screening daily solely to keep squirrels out of a homeowner's attic. I have been shown videos of nesting squirrels and their babies, and I have seen the damage that those innocent-looking creatures can do. I will never forget the night Lil Max and I were settled in bed, enjoying a movie, when the sound of scurrying went across my ceiling. And I knew, squirrels had found a way into my attic for the winter. The next day I called a pest control company because there was no way I was going to get into my attic or on the roof. But now, I have an alternative.  It’s called Morgan’s Squirrel Bloc.

Squirrel Bloc looks a lot like the Morgan’s Mouse Repellent that is so dependable. Each container will repel squirrels for 90 days. It is made with all-natural ingredients and is safe around your pets. This formula is 10 times stronger than other repellents which makes it more repulsive to squirrels. And I like this product because it targets squirrels. It’s not just an all-around repellent – it’s specifically for a squirrel.

Here is how I like to use Morgans. It will come in a 2.5-oz container. I take the lid off and, using a ¼-inch drill bit, drill 6 holes in the lid. I put the lid back on the container and then place the container about 48 inches above the floor in the area where I am seeing activity. Keep the container about five feet from any opening (to allow pests an exit strategy). If you look at the Morgans' site, they suggest leaving the lid off- but I don’t want pumice pellets spread over my attic or anywhere else. At the end of 90 days, I can pick up the container and throw it all in the trash.

In this season, squirrels will like to find a warm place to nest. That may be in the attic, crawl space, shed, boat house, RV, camper, barn, or chicken coop. They will eat outdoor cushions and anything else that they can use to build a nest. But with Morgans, it doesn’t have to be your home. Find it on our website!

Question: I have a wood laminate floor that is very dirty. I have always heard that you cannot use water on laminate wood floors because they might buckle. So, what do you suggest I use to clean the floor that won’t do any damage?

Answer:  Well, first, you can clean the wood laminate floors with water, but don’t just saturate them. However, for most cleanups, I prefer Quick Shine Floor Cleaner (blue bottle). It’s a very neutral cleaner that doesn’t need rinsing. And it will leave a nice glow on the floor, plus it has a fresh smell.

Question: I have a problem with moths in my pantry. I see so many different types of traps. Do you suggest one that you like?

Answer: Terro makes a Moth Trap for birdseed and pantry. We use it on our shelves around the bird seed that we sell, and it does a great job.

Question:  At the ranch, we use the well water. Which is fine, but it leaves such stains in the toilet. I use your Delete Germ, and it does a great job in the bowl, but the tank looks awful. What can I use?

Answer:  Use Instant Power Tank Cleaner. Pour ½ of a container in the tank at night, and don’t touch that toilet that night. The next morning, flush the toilet. The tank will be pristine, as if it were new. If you keep the tank clean there will be less staining in the bowl.
