Hopefully, you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family last week. Maybe you are still munching on some leftover turkey and pie. Or, like me, I made reservations, my mom and I enjoyed an excellent meal, and then went home and relaxed, watching basketball. I enjoyed this quiet Thanksgiving because it gave me a chance to really reflect and appreciate life and all the blessings I enjoy. I love writing this article. Talk with my customers in Houston, Katy, Humble, and other areas in between. And that leads me to talk to you about gifts, and doors that unexpectedly open, and the blessings that follow.
Let me ask you a question: are your headlights damaged and looking foggy? If you have been reading this article, you might remember a product that we used to have called Magic Clear Lens. It was an easy way to repair UV-damaged foggy-looking headlight lenses. Most headlight repair products require you to sand down the headlight lenses with several sanding pads. It takes time and a lot of energy. And the bottom line is that these products do damage to your headlight. I was always looking for another way that would be easier. A product that anyone could use, you know, Plan B. And then I found Magic Clear Lens at the National Hardware Show.
My interest in Magic Clear Lens was personal; my headlight lenses were bad. I could not see well at night. That, and it aged my car, making it look old and neglected. And when I used Magic Clear Lens, my headlights looked so much better right away. And the nice part was that no sanding was required. Nope, all you did was wipe down your headlight with Magic Clear Lens, and then, like magic, it cleaned and cleared the lens. And the nice part is that anyone could do it. It was my perfect product that I sold for several years.
Magic Clear Lens, and I started talking last year; the owners were ready to step away, a door opened, and I was able to obtain the product. The previous owners were so kind and have helped me so much. I have many years of experience in the retail world, but bringing a new product to fruition is a whole different ballgame. For those of you not familiar with the original Magic Clear Lens and how it works, let me go into detail.
The formula will come in a 2-ounce size and will have enough product for 10 headlights. I know, you don’t have 10 headlights. But this product is a maintenance project. When you clean your lens, and it looks clear, it will last about 2 months. Then, just like washing your car when it’s dirty, you are going to clean your headlights again when they look foggy. You will want to clean with a 100% cotton white towel; don’t use a microfiber. Shake the product container to activate it, then apply it to the towel (about two-fingertip-size) and rub it firmly across the headlight lens in straight strokes. Reapply product to the towel as you clean down the headlight. You will remove a dirty, yellow-looking material from the lens. And where you clean, it will immediately look clear instead of fogged. I like to clean the headlights when they're cool. After you clean, if the towel is dirty, stretch it out flat to dry. Then you can use it again in a couple of months to clean again. There is just one type of headlight that can’t be cleaned, and that one has been previously sanded. There is NO going back from that because you have ruined the finish of the headlight.
