Holy Cow Degreaser

About five years ago we had this wonderful degreaser with a crazy name, it was called Holy Cow. It was a great degreaser that worked on everything from glass stove tops, cabinets, floors, and upholstery. I loved it because it had no fragrance, so my sensitive customers weren’t bothered. It didn’t suds up, so it didn’t leave a residue, so it was good for upholstery. And it was a family-owned business until... it wasn’t. And then it was gone like a few great products in the past few years, since Covid. And I have been searching ever since.
RMR is a business that makes the great mildew remover called RMR86 that I talk about. It’s so specialized in that it’s the only mildew remover that will clean mildew out of silicone caulk. So, I was excited when Brian Byrd reached out to me from RMR to tell me about their new line of homeowner products that included a degreaser. I was sent a sample, and I immediately went home to try it out.
Like Holy Cow it has no fragrance, and it doesn’t leave a lot of soap residue when cleaning. You do have to rinse, but it’s a quick rinse. It made quick cleanup of my stove top. When cooking I use a sprayer for my olive oil and I’m kind of messy. So I always have an oily residue on my stove top to clean up. I used it on my stainless steel sink, and it removed all greasy residue. It cleaned off all the fingerprints on the front of the dishwasher and I cleaned around the handles on my doors and removed all the dirt and grime from the painted surfaces. And like I said, it cleaned quickly and rinsed easily.
RMR Degreaser comes in a ready to use quart sized sprayer. It’s biodegradable and uses no harsh chemicals so you can feel safe using it in your home. It was a very powerful degreaser without feeling compromised about safety. You can use it in the kitchen where grease is in the air and lands everywhere from stove top to counter tops and cabinets. You can use it to remove stubborn grease stains on pots and pans. You can use it in the laundry room to pre-treat oily stains on clothing. (test first) You can use RMR on your outdoor kitchen around the grill, and counter tops. If you spill grease on the concrete patio, it can be used to clean up. So anywhere there is grease, grim and dirt- RMR is a powerful answer.
Now to the email….
Question: I have some stains in my kitchen acrylic sink. I think it’s just food stains. I know I need to be careful about what I use in this sink to avoid damaging the sink. I also have hard water stains on the faucet, and would like to clean that up too- is there a better, best product for that?
Answer: If you can wait just a bit I will have the perfect product for you. Gel Gloss is the product that you want to use. And you can use it on both the sink and the faucets. It will clean and provide a protective finish on the sink and faucets that will repel hard water stains. It’s also good to use on acrylic tubs and cultured marble tops and sinks.
Question: I have a hard time starting my lawnmower at times, especially at the start of the mowing season. Do you have a product that is easy to use and works?
Answer: Start Your Engines one of the easiest starting fluids that I know of. You do not have to empty the gas, just turn Start Your Engines upside down and spray directly into the gas tank. It sprays about 60 seconds. Start your engine as normal. This product is good for any 2 or 4 cycle engines.
Question: I have lizards that go across my back patio and no matter how many times I see them they still startle me. So, is there a harmless way to keep them off my deck and patio? I don’t want to harm them, just don’t want to see them.
Answer: There is a product made by Bonide that is a snake stopper, and it also repels lizards. Just sprinkle a 6–8-inch band around the area and then sprinkle about every two weeks.
