Headlight Safety with Trudy’s Headlight Magician

Let me ask you a question... are your headlights dull and foggy? Is it hard to see through them at night? Do you find yourself tapping to have your lights on bright to see the road at night? When you look at your car, do the hazy headlights make your car look old? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I have an easy and economical answer for you.
A few years ago, at the National Hardware Show, I was browsing the automotive section when I came across a product called Magic Clear Lens. It was a surprising headlight cleaner, and I was amazed at how easy it was to make a headlight look new again. I would like to tell you that I was thinking about you, my readers, when I started looking at this product, but my interest was personal. My car was 10 years old, and aside from the headlights, it was in pristine condition. And my damaged headlights made my car look sad. So, I took a chance and brought in Magic Clear Lens. Not only did I clean my headlights and have great results, but you also loved the product. And I couldn’t keep it in stock.
So, what is special about this cleaner? There are many headlight cleaners on the market these days. Just Google “headlight cleaner,” and you will get dozens of products. All these products will have a 3-step process. You clean, you sand, and then once you finish sanding, you need to apply a clear coat for protection. It’s easily a 2-hour project. And you can’t drive the car for a couple of hours after you apply the clear coat. Magic Clear Lens takes about 30 seconds to repair and preserve your headlight. Do I have your attention?
The owners of Magic Clear Lens and I started talking last summer. The owners were ready to step away from their ownership position. A door was graciously opened, and I was able to obtain the product. The previous owners were so kind and helped me so much. You know, I have many years of experience in retail, but bringing a product from the idea stage to the shelf or website is a whole new ballgame for me. So let me tell you about my product, Trudy’s Headlight Magician, which uses the same formulation as Magic Clear Lens. The formula will come in a 2 oz bottle. That will be enough for 12 headlights. I know you don’t have 12 headlights, but cleaning your headlights will be a maintenance project. Every couple of months, you will need to clean your headlights again, just like washing your car when it’s dirty. You will clean with a 100% cotton towel; don’t use a microfiber. Shake the bottle to activate the product and press a quarter-size amount onto the towel. Now clean the headlight firmly going across in straight strokes. Aggressively clean going down and across the headlight. (If you need to, you can apply more product.) Now look at the towel, your work just removed a dirty, yellow-looking material from the headlight. Years of UV damage. And where you cleaned, it will look clear immediately, not hazy. This is a restoration of your headlight. Your headlight should stay clear for about 60 days, but if it looks hazy before that, just clean it. I like to clean in the early morning while the headlights are cool.
There is one type of headlight that cannot be cleaned. If you have previously sanded your lens, there is no going back. Sanding the headlight damages it, and there is no way to just clean that lens. Your only choice is to replace them.
