Last week, I wrote that I was going to share some of my favorite things that I like to recommend. Some of the items are new this year, and some are tried-and-true. This last weekend, November 8th, was my Dad’s birthday. If he were here, he would be 95 and entirely happy to be working in this hardware store. I know things would be exciting because that’s just who he was. The radio show I did on Saturday was so much fun. Number 10 on my list of favorite things is Coronado Crylicote. Benjamin Moore owns this paint line. But the Coronado line is steeped in history. Originally, Negley Paint Company, which started and remained in San Antonio, developed this formula for outdoor paint that is unlike any other paint line. It is formulated for South Texas. Temperatures in S. Texas can vary, and you want a paint that will stick to the surface without popping or chipping; Coronado Crylicote is what you need. Whether you have wood, brick, or stucco on the outside of the house, it’s the paint to use.
Number 9 is Bio Zapp. Bio Zapp is an odor neutralizer. Use it to combat orders left in carpets, tile, drapes, or furniture. When I bought my last house, the owner was a smoker. Even when I pulled up the flooring, you could smell the smoke in the concrete. Before I put down new flooring, I treated all the concrete with Bio Zapp. They also have a product targeted for cats, called Kitty Stop. It will eliminate the smells from the litter box and surrounding areas. It’s a beefed-up version of the original Bio Zapp, designed to target odor from cat urine.
Number 8 is Air Sponge. Air Sponge is an air odor neutralizer. Air Sponge is excellent for musty odors, mildew smells, food smells, smoke, and fire. Use it behind your air handler in the AC to fill the home with a clean, fresh smell. Leave it open in the house or the car to eliminate odors. Do you have a pungent odor? Open up your Air Sponge and turn it upside down, placing it all on the lid. You will expose 75% of the Air Sponge, and it will “shock” the air, delivering a cleaner, fresher smell quickly.
Number 7 is Quick Shine. Provide a quick shine to your wood, tile, or laminate floors with just one coat of Quick Shine Floor Finish with the green label. This polymer finish will never need to be stripped off; you just walk it off. Layer on several coats that will last months. Are your floors new, and you want a floor with just a soft glow? Number 6 is RMR86. Do you have silicone caulking in the bath and shower, and you have tried everything to remove the mildew stain? And it still remains? Well, RMR86 mildew stain remover will. It also removes mildew stains from the seals of a front-loading washing machine. There is no other cleaner that can do what it does on silicone and rubber. You can use it indoors and outdoors for stubborn mildew stain.
Number 5 is Magic Sliders. Protect your floors with the original sliders. Protect your flooring with Magic Sliders on the legs of your furniture. I even use them in the store on merchandisers where I cannot attach wheels.
Number 4 is Triple Light. The new flashlight will have you throwing out your old single-light flashlight. This flashlight provides 180 degrees of light at once.
Number 3 is Clobber. Do you get tired of seeing crawling pests in your house even after paying for a pest control service? Be your own pest control and protect your home for 90 days. Clobber is safe around children and pets as soon as it’s dry.
Number 2 is Morgan's Repellent. This is the best rodent repellent. I use it in the store and my warehouse, and I never see any unwanted guests.
